How to Compare Stocks in the Same Sector
Peer comparison fails when you mix businesses that only share a sector label. Start with shared drivers, then compare.
Steps
- List 3–5 true peers (same customers/economics, not just same GICS code)
- Compare growth, margins, leverage, and reinvestment needs
- Compare valuation on the same metric set
- Compare technical regime (trend vs repair)
- Read recent catalysts that might justify gaps
Keep the template fixed
If every ticker gets a different note structure, you will invent reasons to prefer the story you already like. AI helps by emitting the same sections every time — Almorex’s watchlist memos are built for that. Try it.
